NC Inspections

As a North Carolina licensed inspection facility, we offer both emissions and safety inspections on most vehicles. In accordance with the laws and general statutes of the inspection program set forth by DMV, we take pride in providing our community this service. Much like all our other offered services, there is no appointment needed. Please remember to bring your vehicle registration card as it helps us double check your VIN number along with ensure we are providing you with the correct inspection based upon which county you reside in. Safety only inspections will generally take less time than emissions inspections, however with our brand-new emissions machines running over high-speed internet, we can perform emissions faster than ever before! On all inspections, each vehicle must be lifted off the ground in order to check the suspension and tire tread. We also perform an exterior light check and ensure the vehicle’s headlights are aimed correctly. Don’t worry if you hear us blowing your horn, as that is part of the safety portion of the inspection as well. Along with a handful of other check points such as emission-controlled components, windshield wiper blades, brakes, etc. we give your vehicle a thorough check to make sure it meets the state’s requirements to pass. Now, if your vehicle has after-market window tint, we will have to test for it at an additional $10 fee. This is in accordance with laws of the inspection program and the reason for it is mainly to protect law enforcement from approaching vehicles that have blacked out windows. Just because your vehicle had tint on it when you purchased it brand-new, doesn’t mean that it came from the factory this way. A lot of dealerships install the window tint as an add-on. So, please understand that we are simply following the guidelines and laws of the inspection program. Upon completion of your inspection, you will receive a receipt from our inspection machine showing either a pass or failure. Keep this receipt for your records so that you can renew your registration and pay the property taxes on your vehicle. If you did not pass, our inspectors will explain the process needed to come back and have the vehicle re-inspected.
